Reverend David Bryant returns to lead our Choral Eucharist worship on this Eleventh Sunday following Pentecost, August 9, 2026, with Music Director Zacharia Dekker, and Lay Reader and Intercessor Susan Schuschu. The lessons are read by Christine Cox (The Book of Genesis 37:1-4, 12-28) and Greg Finlayson (The Letter of Paul to the Romans 10:5-15). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 105:1-6, 16-22, 45c, while the congregation responds with, “The Lord has always been mindful of his covenant”, from the George Black setting, ‘In the Midst of the Congregation’. The Gospel is from Matthew (14:22-33). Our hymns for this service: ‘Lead Us, Heavenly Father, Lead Us’ (Book of Common Praise #564); ‘Jesus Calls Us! O’er the Tumult’ (#432); ‘Today I Awake’ (#9); and, as our Recessional, ‘Eternal Father, Strong to Save’ (#567). All are invited to the hall for refreshments and conversation following Zach’s Postlude.
