Bishop Peter Fenty leads our Choral Eucharist worship on this Nineteenth Sunday following Pentecost, October 4, 2026, with Music Director Zacharia Dekker, and Lay Assistant and Intercessor James Hodder. The lessons are read by Patricia Finlayson (The Book of Exodus 20:1-4, 7-9, 12-20) and Susan Schuschu (The Letter of Paul to the Philippians 3:4b-14). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 19, while the congregation responds with, “The statutes of the Lord rejoice the heart”, from the George Black setting, ‘In the Midst of the Congregation’. The Gospel is from Matthew (21:33-46). Our hymns this Sunday: ‘I Come with Joy’ (Book of Common Praise #60); ‘The Lord’s My Shepherd’ (#519); ‘God Sends Us the Spirit’ (#651); and, as our Recessional, ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’. Being the first Sunday of the month the Prayers of the People include the ‘Litany of Healing’, during which those wishing anointing are invited to the altar rail. Following Zach’s Postlude all are invited to the hall for the potluck lunch celebrating Zoe and Zach’s son Matheo’s 1st birthday.
