Bishop Peter Fenty leads our worship on this Sixth Sunday after Pentecost, July 5, 2026, with Music Director Zacharia Dekker, and Lay Assistant and Intercessor James Hodder. The lessons are read by Greg Finlayson (The Book of Genesis 24:34-38, 42-49, 58-67) and Carol McLean (The Letter of Paul to the Romans 7:15-25a). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 45:11-18, while the congregation responds with, “Nations shall praise you for ever”, from the George Black setting, ‘In the Midst of the Congregation’. The Gospel is from Matthew (11:16-19, 25-30). Our hymns this Sunday: ‘Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing’ (Common Praise #354); ‘Jesus Shall Reign Where’er the Sun’ (#383); ‘Jesus, the Joy of Loving Hearts’ (#70); and, as our Recessional, ‘I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say’ (#508). Being the first Sunday of the month there is the ‘Litany of Healing’, during which those wishing anointing are invited to the altar rail. All are invited to the hall for refreshments and conversation following Zach’s Postlude.
