Bishop Peter Fenty leads our service on this Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, with Music Director Zacharia Dekker, and Lay Reader and Intercessor Kirk Hearder. The lessons are read by Hugh Thompson (The Book of Acts 10:34-43) and Kamma Thompson (The Letter of Paul to the Colossians 3:1-4). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 118:1-2, 14-24, while the congregation responds with, “On this day the Lord has acted; we will rejoice and be glad”, from the George Black setting. The Gospel is from John (20:1-18). Our hymns this Easter Sunday: ‘Jesus Christ Is Risen Today’ (Common Praise #203); ‘Alleluia! The Strife Is O’er’ (#212); and as our Recessional, ‘Yours Be the Glory, Risen, Conquering Son’ (#210). During Communion the choir sings the anthem, ‘Awake! Arise! Go Forth!’, by Nancy Price and Don Besig. All are invited to the hall for a light luncheon following Zach’s Postlude.
