Please Note: This video of the complete service for November 24, 2024 is made from backup video and audio, required when the main audio meter malfunctioned such that audio volume was lost towards the end of the service in the ‘Live’ recording on our YouTube channel. This audio is from a stereo microphone at the back of the church, such that the closer, more proximal sound from the mics seen at the altar, lectern, and organ is not included. We are working to address this issue.
Reverend Canon Stephanie Pellow leads our Choral Eucharist Service on this Reign of Christ Sunday, November 24, 2024, with Music Director Zacharia Dekker, and Lay Reader and Intercessor Kirk Hearder. The lessons are read by Graham French (The 2nd Book of Samuel 23:1-7) and Christine Cox (The Revelation to John 1:4b-8). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 132:1-13, while the congregation responds with, “The Lord will dwell in Zion for ever,” from the George Black setting. The Gospel is from John (18:33-37). Our hymns this week: ‘I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say’ (Common Praise #508); ‘At the Name of Jesus’ (#375); and, ‘Crown Him with Many Crowns’ (#378). During Communion the choir sings the Canticle, ‘Salvator Mundi’ (Saviour of the World, arranged by L. Flintoft). All are invited to the hall for refreshments and conversation following Zach’s Postlude.
