Reverend Canon Stephanie Pellow leads our Choral Eucharist worship on this Tenth Sunday following Pentecost, August 2, 2026, with Music Director Zacharia Dekker, and Lay Assistant and Intercessor James Hodder. The lessons are read by Kirk Hearder (The Book of Genesis 32:22-31) and Patricia Finlayson (The Letter of Paul to the Romans 9:1-5). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 17:1-7, 16, while the congregation responds with, “Show me your marvelous loving-kindness, O Saviour, of those who take refuge at your right hand”, from the George Black setting, ‘In the Midst of the Congregation’. The Gospel is from Matthew (14:13-21). Our hymns for this service: ‘Thou Art the Way, to Thee Alone’ (Book of Common Praise #515); ‘Great God, Your Love Has Called’ (#442); ‘One Bread, One Body, One Lord of All’ (#73); and, as our Recessional, ‘Lord, Whose Love in Humble Service’ (#585). Being the first Sunday of the month the Prayers of the People include the ‘Litany of Healing’, during which all those wishing anointing are invited to the altar rail.
