Reverend Alan Cook leads our worship on this Trinity Sunday, May 31, 2026, with Music Director Zacharia Dekker, and Lay Reader and Intercessor Kirk Hearder. The lessons are read by Jim Hodder (Genesis 1:1-2, 4a) and Carol McLean (Second Letter to the Corinthians 13:11-13). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 8, while the congregation responds with, “O Lord our governor, how exalted is your name in all the world!”, from the George Black setting, ‘In the Midst of the Congregation’. The Gospel is from John (20:19-23). Our hymns this Sunday: ‘Alleluia! Sing to Jesus’ (Common Praise #374); ‘Hail the Day That Sees Him Rise’ (#247)); and, as our Recessional, ‘Lord, the Light of Your Love Is Shining’ (#460). During Communion the choir sings the anthem, ‘Holy, Holy, Holy’, by Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky. All are invited to the hall for refreshments and conversation following Zach’s Postlude. This includes a taste of the lemon meringue pie created by Alan and his son for this service as a tangible (and tasty!) expression of God’s creation for this Trinity Sunday.
