Bishop Peter Fenty leads our Eucharist worship on this Ash Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Our Lay Reader is Audi Geadah Ogley. The lessons are read by Patricia Finlayson (The Book of Joel 2:1-2, 12-17) and Jim Hodder (The 2nd Letter to the Corinthians 5:20b-6:10), and the Gospel is from Matthew (6:1-6, 16-21). Psalm 103:8-18 is read, while the congregation responds with, “The Lord remembers that we are but dust”. Psalm 58:1-18 is as well read responsively, “Create in me a clean heart, O God”. The two hymns for our service are: ”A Spendthrift Lover Is The Lord’ (Common Praise #177); ‘Giver of the Perfect Gift’ (#180). There will be the imposition of ashes for those who wish.
