Reverend David Bryant leads our Choral Eucharist worship on this Easter Sunday, with Music Director Zacharia Dekker at the organ and keyboard, and Crucifer, Lay Reader and Intercessor Kirk Hearder. The lessons are read by Todd Hillhouse (The Book of Acts 10:34-43) and Chris Cox (The 1st Letter of Paul to the Corinthians 15:1-11). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 118:1-2, 14-24, while the congregation responds with the refrain, “On this day the Lord has acted; we will rejoice and be glad. Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia,” from the George Black setting. The Gospel is from John 20:1-18. Our hymns today from Common Praise: Jesus Christ is Risen Today (#203); Alleluia! The Strife Is O’er (#212); and, Yours Be the Glory, Risen, Conquering Son (#210). The choir anthem during Communion is “Hallelujah! Now Be Joyful”, by Natalie Sleeth. A Happy Easter to all from St. John’s, East Orangeville (stjohnsorangeville.ca). Thank you for following us.
