Bishop Peter Fenty leads our Maundy Thursday, April 2, 2026, with Music Director Zacharia Dekker, and Lay Reader and Intercessor Kirk Hearder. The lessons are read by Jim Hodder (The Book of Exodus 12:1-14) and Patricia Finlayson (The 1st Letter to the Corinthians 11:23-26). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 116:1, 10-17, while the congregation responds with, “I will lift up the cup of salvation”, from the George Black setting. Our hymns: ‘Wash, O God, Our Sons and Daughters’ (Common Praise #35); Sister, Let Me Be Your Servant (#500); and, ‘Where Charity and Love Prevail’ (#487). During Communion the choir sings the anthem, ‘The Upper Room’, by Don Besig and Nancy Price. The service includes the ‘Rite of Foot Washing’, and the ‘Stripping of the Altar’.
