Reverend Canon Stephanie Pellow leads our Choral Eucharist worship on this Maundy Thursday evening, April 17, 2025. Our Music Director is Zacharia Dekker, our Lay Reader and Intercessor is Audi Geadah Ogley, and Crucifer is Kirk Hearder. The lessons are read by Jim Hodder (The Book of Exodus 12:1-14) and Carol McLean (The 1st Letter to the Corinthians 11:23-26). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 116:1, 10-17), while the congregation responds with, “I will lift up the cup of salvation”, from the George Black setting. The Gospel is from John (13:1-17, 31b-35). Our hymns this Maundy Thursday: ‘Go to Dark Gethsemane’ (#190 in Common Praise); ‘My Song is Love Unknown’ (#184); and, ‘Before I Take the Body of My Lord’ (#610). Following Canon Pellow’s sermon there is the Ritual of Foot Washing for those who wish. During Communion the choir sings the anthem, “Jesus I’ll Stay Awake”, by Linnea Good. After the Stripping of the Altar and Psalm 22 the choir sings the anthem, “This Do in Remembrance of Me”, by Judy Hunnicutt. The choir and clergy exit silently.
