Bishop Peter Fenty returns as Guest Presider and Preacher on this Eighteenth Sunday in the Pentecost Season, September 22, 2024. Our Music Director is Zacharia Dekker, and our Lay Assistant and Intercessor this week is Jim Hodder . The lessons are read by Chris Cox (The Book of Proverbs 31:10-31) and Greg Finlayson (The Letter of James 3:13-4:3), and the Gospel is from Mark (9:30-37). The verses of Psalm 1 are contored by Zach, and the congregation responds with, “Happy are they who trust in the Lord” from the George Black setting. Our hymns this morning: The Church of Christ in Every Age (#584 in Common Praise); For the Healing of the Nations (#576); As We Gather at Your Table (#61); and, How Clear Is Our Vocation, Lord (#466). All are invited to the hall for refreshments and conversation following Zach’s Postlude.
