Bishop Peter Fenty leads our Choral Eucharist worship on this Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025.Our Music Director is Zacharia Dekker, the Crucifer is Kirk Hearder, and this Sunday’s Lay Reader and Intercessor is Susan Schuschu. The Holy Gospel read at the beginning of the service is from Luke (19:28-40), followed by the Blessing of Palms. The lessons are read by Carol McLean (The Book of Isaiah 50:4-9a) and Jim Hodder (The Letter to the Philippians 2:5-11 ), and the Narrative Gospel is from Luke. Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 31:9-16, while the congregation responds with, “Into your hands, O Lord, I commend my spirit”, from the George Black setting. Our hymns this Palm Sunday: ‘All Glory, Laud, and Honour ‘ (#181 in Common Praise); ‘Prepare the Way, O Zion’ (#102); and, ‘Lift High the Cross’ (#602). During Communion the choir sings the anthem, “Look, Now, Your King is Coming”, by Deborah Govenor. All are invited to the hall for refreshments and conversation following Zach’s Postlude.
