We are pleased to welcome the Very Reverend Dr. Gregory C. Gilson to lead our Choral Eucharist worship on this Baptism of the Lord Sunday, January 12, 2025. Our Music Director is Zacharia Dekker, and this morning’s Lay Reader and Intercessor Audi Geadah Ogley.
The lessons are read by Hugh Thompson (the Book of Isaiah 43:1-7) and Kamma Thompson (the Book of Acts 8:14-17), and the Gospel is from Luke (3:15-17, 21-22). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 29, while the congregation responds with, “The Lord shall give his people the blessing of peace”, from the George Black setting. Our hymns this Sunday: ‘Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing’ (#354 in Common Praise); ‘Mark How the Lamb’ (#165); ‘Before I Take the Body of My Lord’ (#610); and, ‘Breathe on Me, Breath of God’ (#649). All are invited to the hall for refreshments and conversation following Zach’s Postlude.
