Bishop Peter Fenty leads our Choral Eucharist Service on this Fourth Sunday of Advent, December 22, 2024, with Music Director Zacharia Dekker, and Lay Assistant and Intercessor Jim Hodder. The service begins with ‘The Lighting of the Advent Candle’. The lessons are read by Graham French (The Book of Micah 5:2-5a) and Patricia Finlayson (The Letter to the Hebrews 10:5-10). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 80:1-7, while the congregation responds with, “Show the light of your countenance, and we shall be saved”, from the George Black setting. The Gospel is from Luke (1:39-55). Our hymns this week: ‘Break, Day of God, O Break’ (Common Praise #99); ‘Your Kingdom Come’ (#106); ‘Lo, How a Rose E’re Blooming(#117); and, ‘When the King Shall Come Again’ (#109).
All are invited to the hall for refreshments and conversation following Zach’s Postlude.
