Reverend Alan Cook returns as Guest Presider and Preacher on this Fifteenth Sunday in the Pentecost Season, September 1, 2024. Our Music Director is Zacharia Dekker, and our Lay Reader and Intercessor this week is Audi Geadah Ogley . The lessons are read by Patricia Finlayson (The Song of Solomon 2:8-13) and Jim Hodder (The Letter of James 1:17-27), and the Gospel is from Mark (7:1-8, 14-15, 21-23). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 45:1-2, 7-10, while the congregation responds with, “God has blessed you for ever ” from the George Black setting. Our hymns this week: Blest Are the Pure in Heart (#439 in Common Praise); Lord, Whose Love in Humble Service (#585); Just As I Am (#615); and, Forth in Thy Name, O Lord, I Go (467). All are invited to the hall for refreshments and conversation following Zach’s Postlude.
