Kirk Hearder serves as Officiant and Homilist for this first of our four summer Morning Prayer services from the Book of Alternative Services (BAS). Zacharia Dekker is Music Director and Organist, and this week’s Lay Reader and Intercessor is Susan Schuschu. The lessons are read by Hugh Thompson (The 2nd Book of Samuel 5:1-5, 9-10) and Kamma Thompson (The 2nd Letter to the Corinthians 12:2-10), and the Gospel is from Mark (6:1-13). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 48, while the congregation responds with, “God shall be our guide for evermore”, from the George Black setting. Our hymns this week: Let Saints on Earth in Concert Sing (#282 in Common Praise); Lord, You Give the Great Commission (#433); and, Hail to the Lord’s Anointed (#101). All are invited to the hall for refreshments and conversation following Zach’s Postlude.
