The Venerable Elizabeth Hardy leads our Choral Eucharist worship on this First Sunday of Advent, November 30, 2025, with Music Director Zacharia Dekker, and Lay Reader and Intercessor Kirk Hearder. The lessons are read by Todd Hillhouse (The Book of Isaiah 2:1-5) and Audi Geadah Ogley (The Letter to the Romans 13:11-14). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 122, while the congregation responds with, “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord'”, from the George Black setting. The Gospel is from Matthew (24:36-44). Our hymns this Sunday: ‘Break, Day of God, O Break’ (Common Praise #99); ‘Herald! Sound the Note of Judgement’ (#111); and, as our Recessional, ‘Come, Thou Long-expected Jesus’ (#88). During Communion the choir sings the anthem, ‘Waiting for the Light’, by Nancy Price and Don Besig. All are invited to the hall for refreshments and conversation following Zach’s Postlude.
