SUMMARY:Taizé 'Stations of the Cross' on March 27
DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday\, March 27 at 7 PM St. John’s is pleased to resume lay-led Taizé services following our last one in January 2020. During Holy Week this is combined with readings and prayers marking the 14 Stations of the Cross depicted on the plaques on the walls of our sanctuary marking Christ’s journey to the cross and tomb. Six short\, contemplative pieces from the Taizé Community in France are cantored and then sung together as we proceed through the stations. This service does not lend itself to live-streaming.

DESCRIPTION:Bishop Peter Fenty returns as Guest Presider and Preacher for this 4 PM Choral Eucharist Service of the First Mass of  Christmas\, with our Music Director Zacharia Dekker and Lay Reader and Intercessor Audi Geadah. Greg Finlayson reads the Old Testament lesson from the Book of Isaiah 9:2-7\, and Carol McLean the reading from Titus 2:11-14. Zach sings the verses for Psalm 98 while the congregation joins for the refrain\, “All the ends of the Earth have seen the salvation of our God”. The Gospel is from Luke 2:11-14. Our hymns for this service: O Come\, All Ye Faithful; The First Nowell; Away in a Manger; and\, Joy to the World. The choir Anthem\, sung towards the end of Communion\, “On a Night in Bethlehem”\, is composed by Sandra T. Ford. St. John’s\, East Orangeville is located in Caledon\, Ontario Canada\, and is a parish within the Anglican Diocese of Toronto.
