DESCRIPTION:This is the 15th year for this Outreach event in support of Water First\, with donations received going towards training of individuals within our Indigenous communities to maintain their clean water systems. This was the idea of Reverend Sheilagh Ashworth (now deceased) at St. Mary Magdalene Anglican Church in Schomberg\, where the event takes place. \nOur ‘St. John’s Team’ of Jim Hodder (who has participated every year since its inception)\, Greg Finlayson\, and Jamie Richards has enjoyed generous support from our church members\, family\, and friends\, and hopes to do so again this year. \nYou may hand cash to any one of us. (There is no Communion during this service.) Zach returns following his brief holiday\, after John Charles kindly joined us as guest organist. John will return for two services in August. \nWe are pleased to announce that the homily this Sunday will be given by Jennifer Kiervin. Jennifer completed a Master’s of Divinity degree at Tyndale Seminary in Toronto 27 years ago\, and is currently working on a Master’s degree at St. Augustine’s Seminary in Scarborough in Patristics (the study of the Church Fathers and the Early Church up to the Middle Ages). She was previously the Associate Pastor at Centre Fellowship Church in Orangeville. Jennifer states she “loves to preach”. We are so fortunate to have her with us.
