This Week of August 8, 2022 and Upcoming at St. John’s...
Fr. John Lockyer is celebrant and preacher again this coming Sunday, with guest organist John Charles also returning.
Bill Graham: We are saddened by the passing of Bill on August 7. He and Catherine were with us just two weeks before when Bishop and Mrs. Fenty joined us to celebrate High Tea for Elizabeth. Our condolences to his family.
Interim and Substitute Ministers Announced: Reverend David Bryant, retired rector of St. Joseph of Nazareth Church in Brampton, will be welcomed to St. John’s on August 28. Fr. John Lockyer returns to lead worship on August 7 and 14, and Fr. Vinaya Dumpala on August 21.
With Elizabeth and Penny’s departure revisions will be made to our website, including the Ministry Team, and with substitution of appropriate photos on the site and our Facebook page as these selections are made.
“Trust Yourself to Garden” Outreach Project:
Our exciting partnership with Am Braigh Farm and three other churches to offer gardening lessons and encouragement to newly-arrived Canadians to our community and anyone experiencing food insecurity continues with sessions on alternating Tuesday evenings.
Resumption of Recordings:
Audio-visual recordings of our services resumed on July 17. These are then edited, and the YouTube link posted under the RECORDINGS heading on our website and to our Facebook page as early as possible following the service, if possible on the Monday.
Seating for in-church worship is open and unrestricted, although it is important to respect those who may wish to continue social distancing. Mask-wearing became optional as of June 5.
Visit the RECORDINGS heading on this site for video recordings of past homilies, audio recordings of complete services, and selected hymns. These are also available on our Facebook page (Parish of St. John, East Orangeville).
