We welcome back Bishop Peter Fenty to lead our Choral Eucharist worship on this Second Sunday in Pentecost, June 2, 2024, with Music Director Zacharia Dekker at the organ, and Lay Assistant and Intercessor Jim Hodder. The lessons are read by Kamma Thompson (The 1st Book of Samuel 3:1-20) and Hugh Thompson (The 2nd Letter to the Corinthians 4:5-12), and the Gospel is from Mark (2:23-3:6). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 81:1-10, while the congregation responds with, “Sing with joy to God our strength.”, from the George Black setting. Our hymns this week: Let Streams of Living Justice (#575 in Common Praise); The Love of Jesus Calls Us (#434); Just As the Deer (#540); and, What a Friend We Have in Jesus (#532). Being the first Sunday of the month there will be the Litany of Healing. All are invited to the hall for refreshments and conversation following Zach’s Postlude.
