Apologies that due to startup technical issues we join the service after the Processional Hymn. We welcome Reverend David Bryant to lead our Choral Eucharist worship on this Day of Pentecost, Sunday, May19, 2024, with Music Director Zacharia Dekker at the organ and keyboard, and Lay Reader and Intercessor Kirk Hearder. The lessons are read by Carol McLean (The Book of Acts 2:1-21) and Graham French (The Letter to the Romans 8:22-27), and the Gospel is from John (15:26-27, 16:4b-15). Zach cantors the verses to Psalm 104:25-35, 37b, while the congregation responds with, “Send forth your spirit, O Lord, and renew the face of the earth.”, from the George Black setting. Our hymns this week: Holy Spirit, Come with Power (#643 in Common Praise); O Holy Spirit, By Whose Breath (#638); and, Lord, the Light of Your Love is Shining. The choir anthem in place of the Communion hymn is, “Send Forth Thy Spirit”, by Carl F. Mueller. All are invited to the hall for refreshments and conversation following Zach’s Postlude.
